Memory Song: Trust In God by Aware Worship

There is no special formula to growing closer to God.

But as I sought Him and placed Him first, three things became consistent in my life.

1. Prayer Without Ceasing

Prayer became more than a routine.
It became a lifestyle.

While driving.
While washing dishes.
In quiet moments and hard moments, I talk to God throughout my day.

Sometimes it is worship.
Sometimes it is gratitude.
Sometimes it is simply sitting in His presence and basking in His Glory.

God is near, attentive, and deeply involved in the details of our lives.

2. The Bible

I learned to slow down with Scripture.

Not reading just to finish a chapter or read the Bible in a year, but studying the Word and sitting with the Word until it settled into my heart.

“…I WILL PUT MY LAWS INTO THEIR MINDS,
AND WRITE THEM ON THEIR HEARTS.
AND I WILL BE THEIR GOD,
AND THEY SHALL BE MY PEOPLE.”
Hebrews 8:10

Until wisdom came.
Until peace came.
Until revelation came.

There is a difference between reading the Word and allowing the Word to shape you.

The Bible became strength for my daily life, guidance for my decisions, and truth that anchored me in every season.

3. Listening for His Voice and Following His Lead

As my relationship with God deepened, I became more aware of His voice.

“My sheep listen to My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give them eternal life, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand.”
John 10:27–28

The Holy Spirit teaches, guides, comforts, and leads us with love and wisdom.

The more time I spent with God, the more confidence I gained in recognizing His direction.

He leads, I follow.

Trusting Him, I have learned that His way brings peace, growth, and purpose. He is my Lord.

I stayed in conversation with Him.
I stayed in His Word.
I simply stay in relationship with Him.

“Remain in Me, and I [will remain] in you. Just as no branch can bear fruit by itself without remaining in the vine, neither can you [bear fruit, producing evidence of your faith] unless you remain in Me.”
John 15:4

And little by little, my life began to change from the inside out because Jesus Christ is not only my Savior, He is Lord.
