You name it, we have a label for it.

The world identifies people by outward appearance, status, influence, or affiliation, yet God looks at the heart.

As believers, we should not be defined by categories, titles, opinions, achievements, appearances, politics, personalities, platforms, social status, careers, culture, or personal struggles.

However, people spend years building their identity through:

  • success,

  • relationships,

  • popularity,

  • money,

  • platforms,

  • careers,

  • or public validation.

Everywhere we turn, society pushes people to build identity around idols because identities shape:

  • how we think,

  • how we live,

  • how we carry ourselves,

  • and what we believe about our value.

This is one of the enemy’s greatest distractions, keeping people focused on worldly identities instead of our biblical identity in Christ.

Jesus knew who He was.

“Jesus said to them, ‘Truly, truly I say to you, before Abraham was born, I am.’”
— John 8:58 NASB

“I and the Father are one.”
— John 10:30 NASB

And as believers, our foundation should declare the same.

Above every title, background, accomplishment, preference, or opinion stands a greater truth:

We are children of God.

Labels should never become our identity or allegiance.

As believers, our true identity is found in Christ.

“Yet to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God.”
— John 1:12 NASB

He paid the price for our sins so we would no longer remain bound by labels, our past, shame, mistakes, or the opinions of this world.

“There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
— Galatians 3:28 NASB

We are:

  1. Chosen.

  2. Loved.

  3. Redeemed.

  4. Set apart.

  5. Known by God.

“For He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world to be holy and blameless in His presence. In love He predestined us for adoption as His sons through Jesus Christ, according to the good pleasure of His will.”
— Ephesians 1:4–5 NASB

There is something powerful about knowing who we are in Christ.

  • insecurity loses its grip,

  • labels disappear,

  • comparison loses its power,

  • and purpose becomes clear.

So, who are we?

Children of God.

Stand on it.
Speak it over your life.
Speak it over your household.
Speak it over your children and your children’s children.
